Shelter Jordan and Shelter City are 2 hostels in Amsterdam's city centre. Both buildings used to be schools (Vincent van Gogh taught in one of them!) and were converted into hostel accommodation in 1971 and 1972. Since then the facilities have been constantly updated to provide the perfect place to stay.

In almost 40 years we've now looked after well over a million guests from more than 150 different countries and so have the experience to provide the perfect hostel experience for you. Our enthusiastic, international staff all speak English and are ready to welcome you to Amsterdam, show you the sights and make you feel at home in the Shelter.
